Hi,

Sometimes i notice that immidiately after a water change , my tanks water would turn cloudy, whats the cause of this? yesterday i changed 50 % water. and rinsed some old filter media in old tank water. after the wate4r change , the water was still clear, but this morning. it became cloudy, whats the cause?
i'm planning to transfer an arowana into this tank. would it be safe?

thanks.

Test the water for ammonia. After cleaning filter media, some tanks get an ammonia spike because of the reduction in bennificial bacteria.

If this is the case, you need to upgrade your bio-filtration before adding anything else. Your filter is already at its maximum capacity. This means that you have just barely enough surface area to handle the fish that you already have. By cleaning a portion of it you are removing enough bacteria to drop below the needed level of bacteria to handle the load.
