so i set up a new tank and i have been reading that it is common to get a Bactria bloom. but i am not quite sure thats what i have. it almost looks like white flakes and if i stir up the gravel or poke the filter "boom" cloudy water.
i added a ac 50 to the tank and put in some polishing pads to help clear it up and it seamed to work great. i was using stability but had since stopped. i also tried to add some of the ceramic rings in my HOB filter just before this hole thing started. i when to check my HOB filter on my larger 30 gallon tank last night for my pleco( he sometimes jumps in how i will never no it a emperor 400) and when i pulled out a filter insert to look for him i found a bunch of the white flaky cloudy stuff.
any help to how to fix or what is going on would be great?
big tank 30 gallon water is good on all accounts.
the other 1ppm ammonia and some nitrite ( i dont remember what it was but it was pretty high)
