Lately I've seen a lot of pictures of underfiltered tanks where the poster says something to justify the bacterial bloom that hangs obviously in the water. The three I see the most are:

I am about to change my water
I just changed my water
Added sand (what, last year?)

Any more cloudy water excuses you have seen around?

I have seen people blame their iPhone for the 'poor quality' pic..... funny how some things are clear though....

Good one! I haven't heard it in awhile.

Well, it is true that overfeeding and/or feeding low-quality junk foods like tetra and wardley are likely to make a tank cloudy. But a good fishkeeper has figured that out and so even this excuse has little basis under scrutiny. Still one that gets used, though.

other things can make a tank cloudy. my mother inlaws 20g is usually cloudy and no clue why.

I've used a poor quality food but never had cloudy water since the day i started fish keeping about 8 years ago

If I ever have cloudy water I plan on blaming global warming
