I have been having some major problems with my water being real cloudy. It was almost a light green like algae water so i did about a 80 percent water change and cleaned the gravel out real good. Still cloudy but not the green tint to it. How about some help?

new tank? or old set up? makes a big difference if you want good answers. near a window? stock list?
whats a while? the sun is starting to come around. and a tank that gets southern sun exposure is goin to have algae.
Had to put a piece of newspaper over a window cause the sun just catches the end of the tank and it will get cloudy..
