I set up my 29gal three days ago, and the water is cloudy as hell. I read that it could be a bacterial bloom, as I did put used filter media and a touch of ammonia into the tank. I'm not sure how accurate this is, I'd really like some advice.

Water parameters: 7.8ph, and basically zero ammonia/nitrite/nitrate

I'm not sure what other information You guys would need.

thanks in advance

Agree, its a normal bacterial bloom, if you try to do something about it, it will keep recurring, have a little patience and the tank will eventually hit equilibrium, might take a week or three.

Do you have fish or anything that will create ammonia?

Congratulations! You have a bacteria bloom! Lucky you! Now that you have a good supply of bacteria in the tank you need to feed them so they don't die off. I use household ammonia to feed the bacteris when cycling a tank.

The water will clear up on its own when the bacteria starts adhering itself to all things wet.
