i have a fx5 on my 150g tank and it only has 3 peacock bass in it and 2 small dats, i have a fx5 on it with bio max in bottom 2 trays and carbon and a foad pad in top tray, the water wont clear up. its been a week with no improvement,any ideas? im not real impressed with the fx5

or your fx5 media is cycling and takes time to grow bacteria that will clear up the water.
You may have overfed causing a mini cycle
you may need to do a water change .... dirty water is dirtry water.... if you know what i mean.

id say get your water tested , if all is good then time will work out in your favor if you wait.
had an fx5 on my 120 it took two weeks for the water to clear up because i put biomax in there. Once the biomax grew bacteria , the water cleared.

running the fx5 alone would be the quickest route. That way it gets the dirtiest water and bacteria will be forced to grow quicker , not another filter doing the work before the fx5 can get to the nitrates / amonia.
