Cloudy Water

When I do a partial water change the water will turn cloudy. I change about 20%. Why does this happen? It didnt before but does every time now.

It will clear up in a day or two... I takes time for the bacteria to establish...

Sounds like you need to vacum your gravel.

I am having the same problem but mine is a new set up. Sorry Chille didn't mean to jump you thread...

White cloudy water in a new setup = filters/tank not fully cycled, so leave your filters alone (rinsing/cleaning of the media destroys bacteria in the filters, so the floating bacteria that clouds you water wins out).

Cloudy water in an old setup could be excessive waste in the water, algae blooms, etc.
