cloudy water

I put a 40 gallon spong filter in my 29 gallon tank also with my 30 gallon power filter. when i added the spong filter the water started getting couldy. So Whats The Problem

usually when ur tank gets cloudy all the sudden means bacteria bloom but not sure for your situation. Wait for few hours maybe residual dust on your filter sponge?

the sponge filter has been set up for about a week now
