cloudy water

my tank is fully cycled and lately the water has become cloudy i thought this might be because there is more load than the filter can handle so i put an aquaclear 300 on the tank and the other filter is still running and the water is still cloudy does anyone know why?

tank is 29 gallon with an aquaclear 300 and a whisper power 30 with 7 african cichlids and a p.senegalus

I would buy a water test kit and test your water to see exactly what's going on. Probably have an excess of waste built up and your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels may be high causing cloudy water. Do a 50% water change. That should help.

did a 50% water change water is clear now. the water that came out of the tank was green so im guessing the cloudiness had something to do with algae
