I had decided to start this hobby about 2 months ago. Still have a ten gallon however the water is cloudy. I thought it was just the filter (small ten gal filter) so i bought an xp1 as well. Both are running but no luck still cloudy. Am i doing something wrong? Nitrite levels are at 0 as well as ammonia. Any help would be great as i am new to this

its probably still cycling try doing some water changes. you never say what you stocked the tank with either.

Definately water changes. What is in the tank, live plants sand gravel? Could be like it was stated before- normal cycling.

Did you wash your gravel properly? It sounds silly but in a rush it might not have been cleaned properly! Also if everything else fails check for bits of sellotape....the smallest amount can cause murky water!

I think i had overstocked for such a little tank. Have a small 2" iridescent, 1.5" jack demsey and two striped raphaels. I ended up moving everything into a 45 gal. Have both filters running in the 45 and water is clear now. Fish are fine and everything seems to be ok for now.

That Irredescent is going to get absolutely huge, I hope you have a very large tank..like lake sized.

I see a Much bigger tank in your future. but like others have said do water changes that should help clear it up.

how long would it be until such a thing happens. If its quite some time i should have time to save up for a much bigger tank.
