I have a 300 g tank in my laboratory that house 2 7" P. senegalus, lots of gambusia, 4 south am. cichlids, and a softshell turtle. Will adding a 10" long Clown Knife mean that I could come to work one morning to find my Poly's eaten?

my CK is agressive and bites my big P. Lapradei, and my Hoplarchus psittacus when he feels like it.... buy my tank is WAY smaller than yours so it should work in a 300. the senegalus and the other fish should be fine.

Yeh my knife has a crack at the endli when ever they peave him off... caught him with his mouth around the head of one of my endlis a while ago... but it seem that all he can do is minor fin damage... the polys are pretty tough, they should be fine...as long as they arent too skinny~! ;)

I'd worry less about the Polys and more about the Gambusia lol

Is that a Icthyosaur or a Pliosaur in your avatar pic? Or wait, maybe a whale...:)

Great endli pics! Thanks for the information. I don't yet have the ck, picking her up this Saturday. I may move my polys to a different tank and allow the larger Jacks to contend with the knifefish. I don't know what it is about the polys but I consider them to be as much my children as my actual offspring.

The avatar is the skull of a river dolphin skeleton of unknown species. It was given to the University of Chicago nearly 100 years ago. After so long, it had fallen into disrepair. So, this past summer I slowly conserved it and promptly took pictures too! Thanks for asking. I wish I had an ichthyosaur skeleton! Good call on the whale guess!

SimonL, I just noticed that I complimented you on your endli pics while looking at someone else's photos! I'm sure you have wonderful endli pics but I haven't seen them.

Great enlis! I'm afraid my little polys might not escape with minor fin damage. I won't be picking up the ck until this Saturday so I might make a new environment for the polys. Who knows? If all goes well, I might have pics to post. Thanks.

I did have great Endli pics until he jumped out lol. Got a new little one growing up as we speak :) I have my big 22" CK with 12-14" ornate polys and he never so much as looks at them funny.

I think it should be fine. My CK left my Senegal alone. I eventually moved my CK to give it more room, but my CK is pretty chill.
