I think It starved to death.. it was extremely skinny... wouldnt eat anything.... it was small though...
not even blood worms. or mini guppies...
water quality is fine
hiding spots all over the place....
any thoughts?

How small was it? Babies are sometimes hard to get to eat. How long had you had it?

im sorry for your loss :( are there any other fish in the tank? maybe to much competition for food?

Did you see it eat before you bought it? It doesn't take much for small fish to die. Was your tank cycled?
I bought my CK at 12", it eats like a pig and has grown almost 2" in a month.

my thoughts... clown knives are captured from the wild... they are use to eating live foods.. going into captivity is a big stress factor...... i always put the little babies in their own baby tank and gently get them started on food such as blood worms ... going eventually into good dried pellet food.. i think once you get them started like this without all the competition of tank mates.. the little guy becomes stronger and trained.. enough to ignore the tankmates.. because being a little guy..first introduced into the tank he has no idea what is going on...... so succumbs to starving and all the stress.

I try to avoid 4-5" clown knives. Ive never personally had one survive. Ive always had luck with 6" and up or check for fat ones in stores and if u could get them to feed for you even better. Although even then if put into an active food competitive tank it might still have issues.

took me 4 attempts to get one to live. my current one only has 1 eye and he adapted to pellet food from 4", to me that is the only thing that made him stable. he is currently around a foot long
