Clown knife eat a Pleco?

I put a 3" CK in my 125G pleco grow-out tank. It is dark, full of driftwood, over filtered and has strong currents. I thought it might die only getting NLS and sirulina pellets from my automatic feeders.

I was shocked when I just got back from an 11 day hiking vaction. The CK is now 6" after a month! I have a lot of 3" to 4" plecos (L14, L18, L114, L47 etc.) that I don't want to get eaten.

My other tanks have some small fish my wife doesn't want to get eaten so I'll have to do a bunch of convincing and rearranging that will take a while.

My question is at what size can a CK get a 3" pleco? My guess is I better get him out before he's 8".

The mouth on a CK can open very very big so you better keep a close eye on your plecs.
At 6 or 7" he can probably eat the 3" pleco but wait till your CK gets to 10" then he will turn into a stealth killer.

I had a clown knife kill a small pleco. I think the armor deterred him but he eventually got to the pleco's belly and bit it out. >_<

i agree with the first two comments since they have big mouths and i mean those "L's" are cool plecos i love the L114 a lot so anyways id remove them to a different tank and keep an eye open for the clown knife its a B2 Stealth Bomber in night O_O

Clowns are wicked at snappin up small fish in a blink of an eye. Mine started becoming a fin nipper very fast. Clowns are fish with a very large appiteite, and get hungry a lot. Keep up on feeding! lol.

I Have Raised My Clown Knife From 4" Now He Is 22" And I Keep Him Well Feed And He Doesn't Bother Anyone. I Feed Him Anywhere From 5 To 10 2" Gold Fish A Day.
