I have in a 55 gallon right know but if i get a 90 gallon would he be ok in there for years to come. If He would be ok could i put an oscar in with him? He is a 9 inch gold clown knife fish!

Not for years...but a year. And it depends on the demeanor of the CK and Oscar. I've had a pretty chill Oscar that I kept with a CK before, but I also had an Oscar that terrorized a RCK to death.

I think it would be alright in a 90 gallon for a little while but they definitly need the length to swim and not just the width (aka both). I had an oscar in with my CK and that was the problem I had. The Oscar would just bully it all day long. I could only imagine what it would be like in a 55 gallon tank with no room to claim much territory. It's seem to be trial and error though based on the temperment of each fish. I think if you grew out the CK it would have a much better chance of working.

House it in however large an enclosure you would house a toddler.
I've held a toddler, and I've held a CK. Very similar propositions.

You have a year before the fish breaks the tank or begins to show physical abnormalities due to stunted growth.
