Clown knife hasn't been eating well.

I recently bought two clown knives which I suspect are chitala chitala. The bigger one is in the mid twenties and the smaller one is in the lower twenties of inches. While the bigger one did start eating, it took him a couple of weeks and he's eating fine now. On the other hand, I still have not seen the smaller one eating and it's been about a couple of months since I first got them. I've tried blood worms (didn't work cause they're in a pond), whitefish, shrimp and two different types of pellet food and none of which have worked (notably). I've read before that it's best to buy these fish when their between the size of three to six inches or else it'll be difficult to start feeding them but I never thought it would take it this long. Please tell me if you have any solutions to this problem such as different foods I can try or anything.
