Would a clown knife be ok in a 180 gallon with a pleco and maybe 2 oscars?

As a juvenile yes, but an adult Clown Knife can reach 40" so i don't think it would even be able to turn in a 72"x24" wide tank, so you can't keep it in there for life. And if ur question was about compatibility then yes u can keep them together.

No...they get about 48" in the wild. In home aquaria, they generally max out at about 2 foot. & yes the CK will be fine in a 180g with a pleco and two oscars. Eventually though, you may want to think about upgrading when all of your fish are near full grown.

Agreed. Since CK can get to 48 inches in the wild a 180 gallon tank would not work, just as a grow out. Oscars should get along with the clown knife as long as you get them both under 5" long. Here are some tips on keeping the two, Make sure there are lots of hiding spots so the fish will not be stressed out. ( Make sure you have some dark areas as well ). You do not want to feed the fish feeders since they can carry parasites that will block nutrients from going into the fish, and later kill it. Some great foods are Hikari, new life spectrum, trout, bass, tilapia, silversides and shrimp. When the fish get 12 + inches you should be willing to get a 500 gallon tank.
Some other fish that could go in the tank are.
- Rays
- Gars
- Bichirs
- large mormyrids ( mormyrus longirostris )
- Large cichlids ( PBass
- Pacu
- eel
- lungfish
- african arowana
- Datnoid
- Large silver dollars

180 is fine for a CK for life with most being around 24" full grown.largest i have heard of around 29" but i think its in a 52k tank.yes you can keep them all together for a good while but i think full grown its to many.my CK is 23" atm in a 125 gal alone and i think its to small for just him.

Ok cool thanks guys.I was just either planning on gettig a 180 gallon or building my 96x36x30 plywood tank but i guess the plywood would be better
