You could put tons in but most would end up in the filter. If it eats flakes of all things, you should be able to get it on pellets. That would be a much better choice than flake. Less of a mess too.

You can keep giving him flakes as a treat. If he eats the same volume of flakes that he has of feeders I say go for it.
