i have a bala shark and angel fish both experiencing fin rot and a clown knife who is not. i would like to introduce a cure into the tank but i dont want to hurt the clown knife. i didnt know if they would be adversely affected because they dont have the same type of scales the others do or that the fact that he would be in the medicated water for a bacterial infection he doenst have? any thoughts?

if possible move either the healthy fish or the sick fish and then treat. I would try salt and very clean water before meds though.
if not possible read the instructions and see if it says anything about scaleless fish. I would half dose the meds at first and see if that clears it up.
