I have a clownknife at 15 inch, his main diet are guppies but I like to switch him to eat dead food/prepared food because I have a new work and I have no time to go to petshops to buy him live guppies,he is still on his starving stage,i dont gave him guppies for two weeks now,I tried giving him sinking pellets, dried shrimps, floating pellets, chicken heart,plankton/spirulina tabs and tetra flakes but I dont know if he eats them,i guess not....:( how long do I have to starve him?I noticed that his bellies are hollow:(

you should have started early... it will be really hard now to convert him to dead food.

agreed. If you want a predatory fish to eat prepared foods, they have to be started early in life. Give him a day or so more, then get him live food. Try the process again in a couple weeks.

Tie a piece of shrimp to a fishing line (loosely) and go "fishing" It has worked for me on several occasions. Drag it around and make it look like a feeder. Once they get a taste they catch on.

that's a good idea. never thought of that.:headbang2 :D

since on the topic of feeding are there any type of meat pellets out there for ck's?

I feed mine cichlid pellets occasionally, but I've never seen a knife specific pellet. Mine gets mainly smelt and shrimp.

It's going to be rough switching him to pellets at that size. You might want to try giving it some frozen Sliversides first.
