Anyone housing or have housed a CK with the following fish:

1)Oscar Cichlid

2)Jack Dempsey Cichlid

3)Green Terror Cichlid

4)Common Goldfish

5)Golden Red-Tail Barb or Tin-Foil Barb

or 6) a Cigar Shark

I'm eventually going to be moving my CK in with these fish, anyone know of any cautions or best ways of keeping the peace in my tank???

i have mine in with 3 oscars and he gets on fine, i have a synspillum which since he has come in the past month has just tore him apart and id say hes an aggressive cichlid like the green terror and jack dempsey so id be very aware of that, maybe if you get the CK slighty larger so he doesnt get picked on as these things grow fast anyway IME, iv never kept cigar sharks or barbs but from what iv heard and saw they are very peacful and wouldn't do him any bother

mine has 2 green terrors with it as one of its tank mates. the GT is afraid of him. lol!

just another point, the gold fish would eventually turn into a feeder.

My Fish:

1-Oscar Cichlid (9")

1-Jack Dempsey Cichlid (5-6 inches)

1-Green Terror Cichlid (5")

11-Common Goldfish (6-8 inches)

1-Golden Red-Tail Barb or Tin-Foil Barb (7")

1-Cigar Shark (11")

2-Common Plecos (7-8 inches)

My CK is still a lil guy, I got him not that long ago, he's still only about 4-5 inches, he's in a smaller tank right now until he's big enough to be moved (can't see it being long for him to get that size), but eventually he'll be living with each of these fish

Some goldfish do manage to get past a foot, I'm not sure if a CK could eat it at that size.

Just remember that the CK aren't very aggressive. A smaller fish could easily bully him. Just make sure he's big enough be he goes into the stock tank.
