I have been wanting a clown knife for a while but I wasn't sure if it would work with my current tank inhabitants. My current tank is a 55 gallon but I am in the process of finding a 90 gallon to move them all into. So my question is, would a clown knife around 12-14" like the one I saw in my lfs be likely to survive and thrive in a 90 gallon tank with the following fish. I'm just afraid to drop $80 on a fish that might get killed by my other aggressive fish.

16" Amazonian Pike Cichlid
5-6" Rusty Cichlid
5-6" Yellow Lab Cichlid
5-6" Achei Cichlid
5" Demasoni Cichlid
6-7" Male Convict Cichlid
3" Female Convict Cichlid
16" Common Pleco

A 90g tank would be a bit cramp for all that stock including the CK. Also, the Pike and Male Convict can be a bit too aggressive for the CK while the Female would probably be a snack for a 12"-14" CK.

No, a single clown knife needs a 180gal for life. Most your stock will become food aswell, not to mention a very large bio load.

Yeah, I think you guys are right. I'll have to wait until I live somewhere where I can fit an even larger tank. At 2-3' a 4' long tank is just not going to cut it. I wouldn't even care if he ate my smaller convict but I don't really want to lose any of the africans. Oh well, thanks for the quick responses.
