Hi, i am new to the site. I used to be a member of another forum but with the way i keep buying these potential monsters i thought i better go to the people who know, so here i am. Just a quick question about my new clown knife. He seems to have rather strange eating habits and was concerned about him. He is 4" long, great markings and quite shy. The only thing is he only ever seems to want to eat algae biscuits! He ignores the shrimp, bloodworm, daphinia, flake oscar pellets and anything else that passes his nose but devoures these green discs that are for the catfish. (he will when the mood takes him eat catfish pellets.) If this is normal then great, but i was a little concerned as the LFS said he would eat mainly protein so that's what he has been getting. Any advice would be greatly welcomed.

Also will try to upload some pics of the tank of babies soon!

welcome to MFK..i starved mine, that old trick works..my CK startin eat shrimp..post pix..any other CK companion in same tank.??

no other ck, just a bgk who is a little bigger. Will try starving thought the oscar will wonder what has happened! Was just worried about the main part of it's diet being veggies! If it isn't a prob then won't worry too much. Still trying to get some photo's but mr clown likes his hollow log alot when the lights are on!

Hey buddy. I have a baby clown knife and when i got him home at first he wouldn't eat anything... but 2 days later i was feeding my other fish brine shrimps and he devoured a whole meals worth of them. And now he likes shrimp, krill, brine shrimps, and tilapia nuggets. Will also take flake food on occasion.

I have a 22" Golden CK. He only ate feeders when I first got him. Now he eats feeders and algae tablets. The tablets have protein in them. I feed them to my large ID sharks. Starving will help. It up to the fish really. Who says fish dont have personalities.
