I have researched these fish online and have called petstores and i get the same info every time...what size, ph, dgh, compatibility, mouth size, food etc. So can anybody tell me anything about cks:nilly: that doesn't have to do with this, same onld stuff i always hear.

What info are you looking for exactly? And what's the poll about it doesn't seem to have anything to do with what questions you are asking. Sorry to sound rude but I think we need some clarification. It seems you allready have a CK so what do you want to know.

Eating habbits?
Tankmates?
Captive size? (BIG 36"+)
Growth rate?

I would recommend keeping one in a minimalistic LARGE tank. I have one thats about 14" and isnt skitish at all but thats because there is very little cover in the tank. I used to keep one in a tank with lots of big rocks and plants...long story short I never saw it come out from under a rock so it got out competed for food and even with target feeding which was rarley ever successful it died.

DO NOT BUY ONE UNLESS YOU ARE READY YOU BUY A HUGE TANK

They have HUUUGE mouths and wil eat anything that will fit. i love royal clown knives personally. if u go on youtube u can see videos of full grown ones .

ill have to agree with "Fish Eat Fish" i kept mine in a tank with lots of do-dads, to hide in and around, thats excatly what it did, i took it all out and left only a piece of pvc pipe, and he loves it, so if that helps, also, be wary when treating for disease, because these fish dont have scales, so you have to be somewhat careful, im surprised no one mentioned that already

koop171, yes, i know the poll has nothing to do with the question. i just thought it would be a cool idea to have a poll about the different knife fishes. i want to hear things about clown knifes that only people that have kept them for a long time can tell me.

i chose bgk too. i have had 2 of them and they are fun to watch. they are nocturnal so they don't see very well with the lights on. it is like getting 2 fish for the price of one. you have a blind, clumsy fish with the light on and a graceful swimming fish that can catch feeders with the lights off. and they don't get quite so big... maybe 20 inches

Don't know what exactly you are looking for. I mean, besides the usual (Size, Water Parameters, Temperature, and Tank Size), there's not much more besides keeping them.
