i just bought a clown the other day. i dont want to feed live, but he only mouths chopped shrimp. i was thinking about adding crawlers today but if hewont eat that how long should you wait to feed live food? fish is 4.5-5in

it you truely want him off of feeder fish... try nightcrawlers... or starve for a while.. they can go a week or so without and be just fine... if you haven't seen him eat yet you might want to get him to eat then starve and just wait til he trys other things... i have 2... one went to massivore pellets with ease... and the other just had to starve for a little over a week and now is taking krill and anything that's gets his attention on the way down... goodluck
I starved my clown when only 3 inch for well over 1.5 months before I broke and gave him the live feeders he demanded

i feel your pain... the one that i had problems with was 4 inchs at the first time i tried... and i gave up on him to but now is around 16 inchs and just now got him off a week ago or so... so i know it's not easy... especially when you do not want to lose the fish... 1.5 months i couldn't have done that... i get scared when my tig doesn't eat for 4 to 5 days... cost to much to risk it... the longest i let one go was almost 2 weeks... not willing to lose the fish just cuz he won't do what i want....
good news he takes chunks of crawlers an is fat now. some of the shrimp disapered to. dont know if it was the knife or the peacock eel that eat the shrimp? but at least the knife is eating. this knife is awsome to he has 15 spots on each side at4-5in.

wow my knife is about 8 inches he also has 15 spots on both sides he looks awesome. iv never seen one with as many spots cool to hear of another with so many spots.
