Should be fine provided the cats can't eat it. It will take a hiding spot for its own though. If not enough is provided.

8 bucks is cheap. I see them for $15 at 4-5".

That's really good, I'd have one by now if they were that cheap, for a 4" one it's about 20-25$

Just make sure it has its own cave/hiding structure and it shouldn't be to aggressive if at all to the cats. They also grow very quick but so do your cats. You should be ok.
