People with a Clown Knifefish....
Is it possable to put quartz in the tank that's housing a Clown Knife, I have a nice bigger sized Piece of Quartz that I picked up at the Lake/River, and I've been told it's safe for a Clown Knife by some people, and that it's not-safe by some people......
anybody with a Clown Knifefish have quartz in the tank as well???
also what tank mates are safe as well with it, if so??
plz help me if you can

It'll be fine. They are a pretty hardy species.

Quarts will be fine in the tank. i have quarts in my tank and its fine
As for tank mates anything it cant fit in its mouth.
what tankmates can be kept with quartz in the tank as well and don't grow very big??

Quartz is basically compressed sand. You can keep with any fish, as long as the piece you possess isn't jagged.

Anyone Ever been able to get their Clown Knife to eat pellets? instead of all live foods

My other question is: Would a Clown Knife be safe in a tank that all ready houses my Oscar, Cigar Shark, Goldfish, Green Terror, Jack Dempsey, Albino Red-Tailed Barb.
Would it be safe to move a Clown Knife now even though my other fish have been in the tank for awhile already?
Like do I need to be cautious towards certain species??

I'm just wondering b4 I go get a clown knife

I have kept a CK with quartz sand.

I would rearrange the tank before putting a new fish in there. Especially with Cichlids. Goldfish prefer cooler temperature water and it may be best to remove the Goldfish into another tank where a heater is not needed and/or set to a lower temperature.

Ok well as long as the quartz its jagged ur fine. As for tankmates how big is the CK? They are a very skiddish fish when small. I got rid of mine and now have him back because my friend threw him in a tank with a jag and a dovii (NOT GOOD). I'm currently housing him with a palmas bichir and a adrican bumb;bee cichlid. Soon he will be housed with all african cichlids that are smaller than him so they dont rip him apart. The good thing about this fish is when it gets a lil bigger like more than 5 inches they are very hard to kill due to bad water conditions. They are hardy and will get big. So tankmates must grow to about 4 inches or bigger. Mine is 6 inches with a 2 1/2 inche bumblebee and doing great. He eates flakes and pellets. Justbstarve him a little and then he may take the pellets. This helps keep his interest off of eating fish. Some ppl may say how can u keep a fish like that with africans who need high ph well my ph ranges from 7-8 and all fish are healthy and colorful. All fish will be housed in a 150 and then a 300 gallon tank i have in storage from a co-worker. Just watch out for larger cichlids because they can turn devil real quick and the CK wont be able to handle it.
