Clown knives are known to be aggressive towards each other. When they are small, they'll hang out together. As they start to get larger, they can get territorial. That being said, I have kept 20" knife fish together and they got on great until one got sick. I'm going to try it again as I have two more growing up. They will be kept in a 600 gallon tank and eventually a a few thousand gallon pond. With space it can be done.
