I dont know why but ever since i bought my first Clown Loach pair, i cant stop buying them, i now have moved them out of the Oscar tank, and put them into a 55g tank a customer gave me because there Gecko got a new tank, 150g to be exact! I love working at a Pet Store. I now have 8 Loaches in the tank, all about 2-3 inches long. They school together and sometimes swim in a single file line :headbang2 that is just awesome. Any body else really like CLs?

i recently got a few clown loaches and have fallen in love also.....my girlfriend named them tom selleck, burt reynolds, and adolf because her original name of mustache face wasnt good enough

I have six clown loaches in my 125, they are all about 5 inches long, keep them with my frontosas and bichirs:naughty:

I have 4, they are great and are just getting over a case of ick, treated with salt and 85 degree water. they are my ten year old sons favorite fish.

What do you feed your loaches? How fast do they grow?

in my tank they basically clean up the bottom with whatever im feedin my other fish......krill, brine shrimp, sometimes even earthworms......im not real sure how fast they grow but the owner of a lfs (i assume this is local fish store?) has some that are about 12" i think and he said he has had them for 6-7 years....he wanted 100 bucks for them(i dont think they were really for sale)

That would be a good price

Clown Loaches grow very slow, but they are pretty hardy fish, besides the fact the get ick more than other fish. Other than that they do a good job cleaning up if you have a school they do even better, can be a very shy fish if kept alone or just a pair, i recommend atleast 3-5 to start out, they stay more active that way.

i recal reading about how clown loaches can become immune to ich after they get it and recover from it. this goes for other fish is well.

they say that a vaccine can be made for ich. . .
