clown loach as good cleaner fish??

hey I was wondering if clown loaches are suitable and EFFICIANT waste eaters in a tank. I hate plecos cuz they look disguisting. do clowns work??? I have a 75 gal tank with 4 5 inch juvi bichirs and 2 angel fish and i was wondering if i can add a few clown loaches to eat the waste and leftovers. My bichirs tend to leave food overover sometimes. also my tank usually has residue even after water changes. Will my plan work?? Will the bichirs attack the loach or will the loach eat the slime coat off the bichirs??

Clown loaches will eat leftover food but they will not eat waste.
