Clown Loach behavior?

I want to setup up a clown loach tank. Since their not exactly cheap I would get one and maybe 2-3 weeks later I would obtain another an so on until I had 5-6. Will the ones already in the tank be territorial to the new ones. They would be around the same size, but I don't want any fiights to break out or i'll just buy the 5-6 all at once.

Fights will happen. It is part of their ways of establishing social hierarchy. Buy 5-6 all at once. They're sociable fish and will pine away if kept individually. It's not always the case but it'll happen.

most lfs will sell them cheaper if you buy 4 at a time also, so just save a little. and if they dont have this option just tell them thats what you want to do and theyll usually do it.

I agree with Paul, start with 5 or 6 and then build from there.
