I bought 2 CL's from Petsmart ($3 each!) yesterday to add to my shoal. They are really light in color (all of them at petsmart were) compared to my current CL's. My current CL's are a vibrant orange and their stripes are really black. The new ones are dull in color. Is there a reason they are so light? Is there anything I can do to help them gain more color? Also, before someone mentions this...they are not "grayed out"

CLs will lose some color due to stress. The start out in the river where they are caught then transported to holding until they are exported. Then they are help in distribution centers until they are sent to pet stores. It can be a lot of stress. Given a few days/weeks, good water quality, a healthy varied diet, and plenty of hiding places to make them feel safe and their colors will soon britten up. I also got several CLs from Petsmart recently that were very light colored. They have since brightened up.

Blood worms, brine shrimp, cucumber, seaweed flakes, shrimp pellets and they love to nibble on the all the plants in their tank.
