Hey guys, just got a question when I first got my group of loaches they were around 1-2 inch and they use to love loach dancing in the corners of the tank and even when I introduced my 9 inch loach they danced together.
But for some reason now they don't seem to dance anymore... They are all around 5-6 inches now and the big one is around 9 1/2 !

Assuming dancing meaning activity towards the middle and top of tank, or swimming together. If this is the case. Try using floating pellets primarily for a week or 2. They'll start to swimming up when hungry and get more active, therefore, less shy and dancing may occur later. I've noticed with my shoal, sinking pellets, make them stay grounded longer. Check out my signature for some of my loach feeding videos. They're much more entertaining to watch.

Ahh that actually makes sense.. I feed mostly sinking pellets for them, maybe it's time to get the cichlid gold pellets out then !
Thanks

There are benefits to adding floating pellets to the feeding routine. I do both, but prefer floaters due to activity. Noticed that a sinking diet all the time tends to encourage them just to STAY AT THE BOTTOM most of the time. So, less interaction with other fishes in the tank such as side to side mimic swimming and etc... I've noticed it's also cleaner method of feeding. After a while, in my opinion, you'll notice the Clown Loach bunch will become less shy. I hated that when all they wanted to do was hide and hide some more.....

I feed my clown loaches zucchini on a regular basis, usually I just sink it to the bottom, but every so often I'll suspend a piece with fishing line to make them swim for it. It's pretty entertaining to watch and they seem to be more active even after it's gone.

Damn looking at the pics in my cell phone is small! I zoomed in and now see the clowns in the back behind dat. Doh!
