ive seen a couple of pretty big CLs at public aquariums but im just wondering wat their max size actually is and how long it takes to get there. any of u guys have monster CLs??

Max size is somewhere around 12-14". I have a 9" specimen. I am guessing at that, because they move so much it's tough to measure.

im not so sure bout that...i saw a CL around 24 inches at a LFS and i swear i saw an even bigger one at the brisbane zoo in australia...hmmmm

a 2' CL would be worth millions and break all written info on Cls.

yeh but it was in a huge public aquarium. everything grows larger in there. plus, fish appear smaller through the glass so who knows wat its tru size is.

My biggest one is some where around 9"....and growing.

ya i will wen i go back to malaysia. ill never forget it cause i dont consider buying a fish unless it has big growth potential. this fish i saw is imprinted in my memory cause it was BIG. even my 3.5 feet RTCs wont be able to eat it i reckon but yeh i heard from the fish shop man that the CLs grow EXTREMELY slowwwwwwwly. i think his 2foot CL was sumthing like 7-8 years old. sumthing pretty ridiculous like that. cant remember maybe older :s

i just was at jdmans house today
his cl's are awesome and prob. the best i have ever seen

That's probably not a clown loach, it's a royal clown loach. Different species.
