I JUST GOT 4 CLOWN LOACHES FROM 3" TO 5" FOR @10 EACH
THEY HAVE ICH AND I DONT WANT TO PUT THEM IN MY 220G TANK WITH MY OTHER LOACHES. THEY ARE VERY ACTIVE AND LOOK HEALTHY
THEY ARE IN A 55G TANK WITH THE HEAT AT 86*
I HAVE NEVER TREATED ICH BEFORE IN A LOACH (SCALELESS)

I NEED SOME ADVICE ON HOW TO TREAT IT WITH HEAT AND SALT AND FOR HOW LONG
ANY ADVICE IS GOOD
ACCORDING TO WHAT I HAVE READ THIS IS THE BEST TREATMENT

THANKS

Temp. at 86, follow the directions for salt on the box. Slowly raise salinity over an hour or so. Daily gravel vacs.

ok
i have no gravel
just a plain 55g tank
filter and 2 bubblers one on each corner

now that the temp is at 86 they are starting to look worse
one is ok, one is just next to the heater and not moving and the other 2 are starting to swim slow

before the temp went up they were "happy" ????

have u put the salt in and no carbon filter in they should droop off, make sure the light is off and they have a place to hide if not cover the tank so they relax a bit, also when your suckin the bottom replace the water with some from the tank they will be moving to it will help them a lot not to get a shock again.

I'd say go right to the medicine like API there's directions for scaleless fish. I had a couple loaches with ich and did the heat salt method and they died from the ich the method wasn't fast enough for me

sorry to hear that, i had a loach die on me last week got 4 v smalls ones from the shop they got only a touch of ich i started the heat and salt as soon as they came home the one that died never seemed to be happy he did not grow same as rest of that lot, he never eate much so guess it was just 1 of thos things.

thanks for the advice guys

my biggest clown died and the other three were just laying at the bottom of the tank breathing hard and not moving.
before i started the heat treatment the loaches were happy and eating and now they are dying
so this is what i did
i said the hell with the heat treatment
i did a 50% wc on the tank and temp back to 74* were the fish were happy before
with in 15 min the fish started swimming from one side of the tank to the other and looking "happy" its been half a day and the fish are "felling better" still swimming around.
going to the fish store to get ich med and give that it a try
hope this works
ill keep you guys posted

PS: i was reading another post from a MFK member and the heat treatment did not work for him either.
but keep the advice coming guys some things may work and some may not depending on the fish i guess
