Clown loach measurement

Is the correct measurement from the tip of the nose to the end of the each caudal fin or the middle of he caudal fin (before it extends into two ends)??

Tip of the nose to the end of the tips of the tail. Mentally draw a line from tail tip to tail tip tip, and from this line to the tip of the nose is the total (accurate) length, but how are you going to get one to hold still long enough?

I measure base to tip, and add a couple inches. I measure everything that way.
