I was gonna setup a heavily planted clown loach 55g tank. And I needed the advice of you guys on everything plants. First of all what type of lighting should I get that isn't terribley expensive? And also what are your guys favorite types of plants? I like the amazon swords and idk the species but the almost water grass looking plants. But add on those two what else can I add? I wanna keep it lowtech with no co2 or anything like that.

Just be sure and add cucumber for them to eat. It helps with their tendency to eat plants. I have them with Amazon swords, and they love to hang around in the leaves. It's cute. They don't put too many holes in them since I started feeding them veggies, too.
I know LOL I'm not worried about them eating have a cucumber in there now they are eating not, I'm more worried about the plants and all that
My CL's are in with Amazon Swords, Anubias, Java Ferns, Java Moss, Wisteria & japanese Marimo Algae balls, but the amazon swords are the only ones that ever get eaten. If they get hungry, they will start punching holes in them!
