Clown Loach Price?

Is it just me or has the price of clown loaches skyrocketed in the past year? Just a year ago I would see 3" loaches for $5. Now you can't pick up a 2" loach for under $10. Is the supply low or is the demand that high? I'm finally in the market for some, but damn! This tank I'm setting up was supposed to be fairly cheap!

Now you can't pick up a 2" loach for under $10.

You can if you work at an lfs! Petsmart has small ones for $3.99, but they always die on me. Go for medium sized loaches, you will get your moneys worth.

I can't even find them around here since I moved. I'm really starting to miss Tampa. I've only found one place that sells them around me (Petland) and they want $13 for >2"

my lfs sells 3" at $5.99 i believe. in socal

I still work in Tampa, but I work nights and get off at 6am. I may have to stick around this morning until the LFS's start opening up. Maybe I can find something around here I hope.

at a LFS yesterday they had CLown loaches around 5 " for 45$$$$ obsurd!!!!!!!! even though it had a sweeeeeet non typical pattern, screw 45$ on a loach!

I agree the price has skyrocketed... and its weeeeeak; WIZEAAAAAAAK.

Well I stayed in Tampa after work this morning long enough to pick up 3 at 2" for $10ea. I was hoping to get 6, but I can't spend $60 on more fish. I've been stocking the tank over the past two weeks.
