I've been getting more interested in Clown Loaches lately. I was at a lfs when I REALLY wanted to get some. Then my common sense kicked in...I need research! Exactly what size does a Clown Loach get and how fast do they grow?

7" is a nice sized one. They also like being in groups, I would suggest getting at least 2.

They get to be around 12" but they it takes years to get to that size. They like to be in groups so get at least three or more.

Clowns grow to 12" over several years. I have found they are best kept in groups of 5 or more. They are very susceptible to ick, so maintain a higher temp. They eat from the bottom, and are a great cleanup crew, but also will accept flakes at the surface.

Good Luck!

I have 3 of those cute critters. they can get to 15", but it takes like 10 years for them to get there.
recomend yu get 3 or more as they are very social.

Man...that sucks that they grow slow! Guess growing them out to put in with the Pbass is out of the question :irked:

I bought a 7" for 21.99 at my lfs.

You got that right...

Another thing you should probably know is that they have spines near their gills. If a fish ever tried to eat a CL they would be in trouble.
