What size tank should clown loaches be in when they reach 4 inches.. if kept in a 75gal {7} would they be stunted? What is clown loaches real rate of growth and what size are they when considered mature.. and when mature how big a tank would be right for 7 clowns .. thanks ..now that mine are growing i want to make sure their environment is suitable..

I keep some in a 75, and they are growing well. I think the key is water changes and a good diet. That tank would eventually need an upgrade if you want to do a large shoal, but should work fine for quite awhile. Some will say to get a bigger tank, but I say always get the biggest tank possible and change water accordingly.

Loaches grow to a foot in about a decade. I would class a mature loach to be around 6" seing as there have been reported spawnings (not natural) of 6" clowns.

A standard 75G would do for a good while, but very clean water and a good diet mixed with meaty foods and some vege's will do them great. I haven't seen your loaches in quite some time.

I have questioned this only because everything you read on the info in google says minimum tank should be 100gal.. and i thought that is overkill until they are about 4 years old..or 4-5 inches, but then i read they could be otherwise stunted and i look at mine and it seems they have so much room compared to other fish we keep..and they are growing well..and anyway Ewurm i agree with you all the way..but i just wanted to make sure..thanks
