I've seen clown loaches with a breeding colony of frontosa. Do clown pester the holding mothers to get em to drop the eggs? I'm thinking of some jurupari, c. moorii, and some yellow labs maybe with clowns. Although, I don't want to stop their fry production.

Anyone have experience?

Thanks,
Cory

I've had a spawn in my loach tank. The parents protected the eggs, but the fry have a mind of their own. Every one was gone within a week.

Unless you have a very large tank (240 gallon or larger) I would keep the breeding group of cyphos by themselves. In a large enough tank, C. moorii can work as tankmates, as can yellow labs, but I would pass on the idea of adding anything from the Satanoperca genus, and I would also pass on adding clowns.

I don't know if they would pester a female, but they are opportunistc and will eat the eggs and fry. Water chemistry will bring about some issues.
