bought it and later that day i noticed it had a couple white dots on it. ive added a little over a tbl spoon of aquarium salt per gallon and ive also had the temp at 86-87. Its been about 5 days and no signs of it going away, shoudl i wait it out or bump the temp up some more or what? thanks

Temp is fine. Keep it consistent for two weeks. Add a tablespoon of table salt per 5g as treatment. Dissolve before adding and add slowly.

Your treatment plan looks fine. If you don't see improvement in the next couple days you may have to resort to meds, but use that as a last option.

I agree that your treatment sounds good. I have treated CLs for ich several times successfully by adding 4 tbs of salt for every 5 gallons and raising the temp to 84.
