Quick run down I had 3 loaches lost two little ones to ich. The big one survive and is currenlty with some danios the meds killed off my bb colony he wasn't eating and just hid after the ich issue but has been doing much better swimming and eating in the open. But now I noticed some whiteness small amount of fraying at the bottom of his tail. I should also mention that the tankn is cycling using safestart ammonia is between .25 and 5 nitrite is 0 and nitrate is at between 10 and 20. Temp is around 81 I know they should should in groups but dont want to add anymore until the tank is established. Any ideas sorry pics aren't clear could it be fungus?

Pics arent clear enough to tell exactly what it is but it could be a small abrasion from the substrate being different than hes used to. Looks like its the bottom tip of his tail, which would be in contact with the substrate often

It's the start of what looks to be tail rot. With the tank not being completely cycled the fins are prone to this. Keep up with water changes and this should go away on its own. If it gets worse, melafix would be the cure. Don't rush too quickly to use the melafix, as once the water parameters are stable it should clear up without meds.

Thanks guys and just in case the ich shows up being thay the water wont Benin tip top shape I should be able to keep in at bay with just treating with heat ?

It shouldn't be used with loaches because they are scaleless but some people say it's ok if you use half the recommended dose...

If I was you and it was advanced enough to kill them I would use a med and raise temp but it would be best to add a bubbler as oxygen levels will lower with meds and higher temps
