Clown Loaches and Ray's

Quick question, can rays and CL coexist peacefully?

I've seen them together and would expect they'd be fine, but one also hears stories of botia vacuuming out a ray's eyes. Ray will also eat a small loach, apparently.
Set plenty of hides/habitat and current so loaches don't get bored.
