alright i was watching my tank, and i have a group of 6 clown loaches... everytime they come together and swim around the tank, they all make this weird clicking noise. is it just me? or do you guys experience the same thing.
:nilly:

and a little off topic.. have you ever watched your clown loaches sleep at night? i walked by my tank once and saw four of them on their sides or on their backs. freaked me out for a second and noticed they were still alive.

Yes they do. sometimes it sounds like my tank is going to blow apart. You should see 20 of them on their sides, it really freaked me out the first time i saw it happen

when i first herd it, it sounded like somewhere on my tank the glass was cracking and freaked out, but yeah i googled and youtubed it and they really do make a clicking noise, anyone know why they do that? and yeah i when i saw them laying like that i was like **** how did this happen, but when i turned the light on they came back to normal.

Yeah, they can be loud! I believe they do it with their subocular spines

Yes, completely normal. Any Botia can make the clicks actually, not just clowns. The sleeping thing is normal as well, mine do it in the middle of the day with the lights on. Part of the charm. ;)

And I don't think it's made with their subocular spines, I believe it's them grinding their teeth together in their throat.
