I have 6 clown loaches ranging from 6"-8" or so. Just noticed today that some of them are developing brown pathes over their body and face. They are still eating and acting normal and my water parameters are 0-0-10. Temp at about 86F. The only big changes is that i have moved them from my 210g to a 110g temp home until we move and the fish room is set-up. FX5 and the sump and drip system were transfered over to the new tank. Could these just be bruises?

BTW: im trying to get pics, but they've never been able to sit still for a photo shoot.

This is an old thread I know, but some loach owners may want to look at this. This happened to me today, due to drastic changes to water chemistry. I stopped using Prime for a couple months, but concerned of chlorine in my well water from the tap. I did 6 caps (50 gal. treatment each cap) on a 200 gal. tank during my usual 45-50% water change to make up for lost times I guess. Assuming that I haven't used water conditioner for a while. So, noticed 4-5 sizes ranging from 6"to7" getting brown patches all over within a couple hours and breathing heavily. To remedy, I ran 4 powerheads and within a few hours. The very noticeable brown patches went away.
