Hey guys I recently got 4 clown loaches and I put them in my 20 gal until they can get bigger because my dats would eat them. I've had them for a week already but they haven't eaten anything and I'm starting to get worried. I've tried NLS, massivore, market shrimp, and now bloodworms and still nothing. I got my water checked at petsmart and they said it was good. Water change every other day. THere are no other fishes with them. What should I do in order to get them eating? THey don't look too skinny at the moment

What were the numbers on the test results. Petsmart is notorious for giving the "go ahead" for "good water" when it's really TERRIBLE!

Have you tried blood worms?

Do you have a place for them to cram themselves into so that they would be comfortable? Maybe keep the tank dim or the lights off so they can get settled into their surroundings first?

I really have no idea on the numbers since I don't have my own test kit. But I am doing water changes about 4-5 times a week (which is my normal schedule for my 90) with prime. They hide under my large sponge filter since I needed the BB from it to seed the 20.

ummm i would try some dry food that have been soaked in anti parisite med. mabye some pellets or fd blood worm as they could have skiny disease. mabye even try feeding lights out or earley morning but watch them to see if they eat them.

mabye even taking out the spounge filter and replacing it with a small filter and jet pack throw in a few logs or pvc pipe to make them feel secure and they will eat. pics would help of them to rule out skinny disease.

also try some dithers like danios or tetras . if they see other fish comfortably eating it might put them at ease a bit . stick with the bloodworms , normally they can't resist ...

That's fairly normal, they don't like being moved and take weeks to adapt. They'll be starving in another weeks time and will eat. Make sure

Your levels are correct (test them don't just think they are) - get a test kit. No one should be keeping fish without one. It there is ammonia or nitrite in that water then there is a problem. Doing water changes helps but doesn't prove the quality of the water is good.

Keep lights low or off just now.

I'll try to get some pics but I've had clown loaches before and these are pretty fat and healthy looking. Theres also a pot in there for them to hide. They seem to be swimming around when nobody is near the tank
