Clown Loaches SOOO Expensive Now!!

Are they all the sudden super trendy to buy now? All the shops nearby (I live in Socal, so Long Beach, Westminster, etc.) are pricing their smallest loaches from 8-12 bucks, mediums/"large" from 25-50 bucks.

Last year, just before I took a year-long break from the hobby, the small ones were 4 bucks on average.

So what happened? Everyone love loaches now, or did the source dry up, or... what? o.o I've got 10 so far, and I want more! I'm so addicted. The new ones I got recently aren't shoaling with the old ones, though. -_-

I bought 235 clown loaches from 3" to 6" from $5-$15 depending on the size from South Bay Aquarium...The owner will give u a good deal if u get more then one...

I did notice that clowns went up in price here too. I overheard someone at a LFS say that they were really hard to get in right now (didn't say why)
