Hi everyone, I noticed some of my loaches have ick on them,
I did some research here. They are in hospital tank right now, I've raised temp to around 85, added airstone, salt...etc
My questions are, If i should use medication at the same time?
also, If after the loaches are cured, how exactly should i put them back into my main tank? as far as i know, Ick can be appear if loaches are under stress?

Thank you

If you're already using the heat and salt method, you probably shouldn't use other medication. A popular ick med, quick cure, has formalin and malachite green in it, and formalin and salt is actually poisonous when mixed together.

My favorite med for ick and scaleless fish is quinine. But you can try to heat and salt method, it seems to have about a 75% success rate in my experience.

You should also watch all the other fish in your main tank... they may not show very obvious signs of ick, but they may have it. Loaches are just especially susceptible because they are scaleless.
