Clown loaches with polypterus?

Anyone have luck keeping clown loaches with their bichirs? I understand a large clown loach is fine but will smaller one likely become lunch if the bichirs are kept well fed? Experiences?

I have kept loaches with delhezi and senegalus.

No issues for almost a year then I moved polys to a bigger tank.

That's basically what the guideline is for all fish regarding polypterus. As long as the clown loaches aren't small enough to fit in the bichirs mouth you shouldn't have any problems.

That may be pushing it. I would say it would work with almost every other poly, but from whag I've seen juvi endlis are the ones that are most prone to take something down, or at least try.

I keep 6x 5-6 inch clowns with my 10-11 inch ornate. they do fine, they like to cuddle together sometimes!

Keep in mind the endli is going to grow faster than the loaches will.

I have a koliba, del, 2 senegals, and an ornate in with 7 loaches ranging from 1.5"-5" with no issues
