I have heard it is very rare to breed them in captivity. Also, if you are trying to make sure you have more than just 2. Clown loaches are very social and should be kept in a large group. I have 5 in my 75 gallon and I wish I would have bought at least 7. They are so fun to watch in big numbers too.

From what I have read it is very hard to do. I bought 30 clown loaches with plans on them breeding in 2-3 years, but I have heard it might take longer than that to breed them.

just rumor milling here, but I have heard they have to be close to full size before they breed, which is around a foot long....

I have searched for this information earlier because this is one of my most favorite fish, but I have never heard of breeding eczept for this:

i had 5 of them but ich got 3....i was a newbie at the time.

they are only about 3inches....

so sounds like the one is just FAT!

Wow that was a great article the only other clown loach breeding story I ever read turned out to be a practical joke
